GREEN BAY, WI — Brown County United Way, in collaboration with the City of Green Bay and MF Housing Partners, is thrilled to invite the community to the Ribbon Cutting and Open House of the City East Center and City East Apartments on Tuesday, September 10th, 2024, at 10:00 am. After the ribbon cutting, attendees are encouraged to tour the facility. Later in the day, Brown County United Way, the City of Green Bay, and the Joannes Park Neighborhood Association will host a block party, providing area neighbors with an opportunity to meet and greet each other. Additionally, the City of Green Bay will offer a pop-up city hall for attendees to learn about available city services.

The City East Center is set to become a vibrant community hub where residents of the City East Apartments and surrounding neighborhood can access programming, services and resources while building meaningful connections. Powered by Brown County United Way, the City East Center will focus on economic mobility, employment security, social connectedness as well as empowerment and self-advocacy. The establishment of the City East Center was accelerated by a $1M bipartisan federal appropriation secured in 2022 through the efforts of Senator Tammy Baldwin.

The City East Apartments and City East Center represent a public-private partnership between the City of Green Bay, Brown County United Way, and MF Housing Partners. Media representatives are invited to cover the ribbon cutting, open house, and late afternoon block party.
